After studying comes the job. Accountants can work for the government, private companies, or as a self-employed individual. Accountants can even work as instructors or professors so long as they have the met the prerequisites of a university or college for their teaching personnel.
Accountants who are self-employed can handle book keeping for businesses who seek to avail of their services. This can be a good thing when one wishes to stay home while earning. However, this type of job does not guarantee you of a continuous flow of income. You only get to earn when someone needs your service plus you have to spend some money to advertise your book keeping service.
Corporate and government accountants share many more things in common but differ in one thing; job stability. Government accountants are more stable because their compensations are not dependent on profits instead they are generated from the income generated by the government from taxes.
